Welcome to Debate

In this class, we will:



  • practice various elements of public speaking
  • utilize methods of persuasion and argumentation
  • discuss current events and current issues
  • explore various methods of research
  • practice responsible researching
  • analyze the elements of debate
  • learn to debate in various formats
  • work cooperatively to develop debates
  • practice debating in formal in informal settings

Things you will need for this class:

  • A marble notebook
  • Two folders
  • A flash drive (the cheapest one possible) or other electronic storage device
  • Pens, pencils, and highlighters
  • An email address (if you don't already have one, I suggest http://www.gmail.com/)
